FAQ

What is ABA?

Do you take insurance?

No, we are not currently in-network with any insurance companies; however, many clients are able to get out-of-network reimbursement for our services. We will walk you through the reimbursement process making sure your questions are answered.

Do you work with kids without a diagnosis?

Absolutely! We work with children with and without diagnoses as well as a range of ability levels.

Will you do a diagnostic evaluation?

No, we leave that up to the experts in qualifying fields to complete diagnostic evaluations. These experts may include developmental pediatricians, neurologists, clinical psychologists, and licensed psychologists. See my recommendations.

Will you need to do an assessment?

Yes. We will always start with an assessment to determine your child’s areas of need. The type of assessment needed will be determined at your initial consultation.

How long does the intake process take?

Depending upon the type of assessment and scheduling, the intake process including the completion and review of the initial assessment can take approximately 4-6 weeks before therapy sessions begin.

When will we get started?

When you are ready to move forward, let Dr. Haak know, and she will send you the intake paperwork. Once that is complete along with the registration fee, she will begin scheduling the assessment.

How long does it take to see results?

This completely depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to:
1. Parents’ willingness and ability to follow through with recommended protocols.
2. The time it takes the child and their therapist to build a trusting relationship.
3. The time it takes to decrease high levels of challenging behavior.

Will you work with my child’s school?

Absolutely! We work closely with your child’s teacher and other staff working with your child to help bridge the gap between home and school ensuring everyone is consistently addressing your child’s needs.

Will you be working with my child or someone else?

Dr. Haak oversees all clients and their programs. In some cases, Dr. Haak will work directly with your child, and in some cases, your child will have a combination of Dr. Haak and our fantastic RBT, Jessie.
