To have the most effective treatment plan, we will begin with a comprehensive assessment. During your initial intake interview, Dr. Haak will determine the most appropriate assessment for your child based on the areas of need.

Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)
The purpose of an FBA is to determine why challenging behaviors are occurring. Dr. Haak will collect data in a variety of ways and use the results of the FBA to determine appropriate interventions to address the behaviors with recommendations for their implementation.

Skills Assessment
If a skills assessment is determined to be the most appropriate first step, Dr. Haak will choose from a variety of options based on the skills deficits. Options may include but are not limited to: Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS-R), Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), Socially Savvy Checklist, Social Skills Checklist, Vanderbilt TRIAD (Problem Behavior Rating Scale & Social Skills Survey), and others.
