Training
A structured, highly individualized program designed for children who need additional support with potty training.
This intensive program is ideal for families who have tried without success or need a more guided, consistent approach.
Play Dates
(2:1 and small groups)
Our 2:1 or 3:1 playdates will help your child work on social skills in a small, controlled setting. Your child will have specific goals they are working on during these sessions.
Skills
Assessment
If a skills assessment is determined to be the most appropriate first step, Dr. Haak will choose from a variety of options based on the skills deficits. Options may include but are not limited to: Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS-R), Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), Socially Savvy Checklist, Social Skills Checklist, Vanderbilt TRIAD (Problem Behavior Rating Scale & Social Skills Survey), and others.
School Shadowing
(in private settings)
We have highly trained technicians that will accompany your child at school, providing support throughout the day or at specified times of the day.
We use formal and informal assessments as well as work closely with you to create a program that will enable your child to increase desired skills and decrease challenging behavior. The strategies we use are evidence-based and are most likely to be effective in achieving the desired outcomes.
Supervision of Technicians
We provide supervision of technicians working with your child in accordance with the recommendations made by the BACB. We ensure that technicians are trained to work with your child when they begin providing services, and we continue to supervise them on an ongoing basis.
We also provide supervision of hours for those technicians wishing to seek their BCBA certification.
School IEP/504 Consulting and Advocacy
Dr. Haak has extensive knowledge of the IEP/ARD process, having been a special educator herself. We offer consultation services with your child’s school team to help you understand your child’s rights, to help you understand what services are being recommended by the school, and to help you advocate for additional services based on your child’s needs.
